How to Calculate Time Difference
Compare two places correctly when their offsets or calendar dates differ.
Start with one instant
Convert the source local date and time to an absolute instant, then display that instant in the destination zone.
Do not subtract abbreviations
Offsets can differ by date because daylight-saving rules change. Use named IANA zones for both locations.
